چکیده
Background: Virulence of pathogenic bacteria is often determined by their ability to adapt to stress. Result: The Brucella abortus general stress response (GSR) system is required for chronic mammalian infection, and is regulated by phosphorylation and proteolysis. Conclusion: The B. abortus GSR signaling pathway has multiple layers of post-translational control, and is a determinant of chronic infection. Significance: This study provides new, molecularlevel insight into chronic Brucella infection.

متن کاملRelative Quantitative Proteomic Analysis of Brucella abortus Reveals Metabolic Adaptation to Multiple Environmental Stresses
Brucella spp. are facultative intracellular pathogens that cause chronic brucellosis in humans and animals. The virulence of Brucella primarily depends on its successful survival and replication in host cells. During invasion of the host tissue, Brucella is simultaneously subjected to a variety of harsh conditions, including nutrient limitation, low pH, antimicrobial defenses, and extreme level...
متن کاملImmunogencity of HSA-L7/L12 (Brucella abortus Ribosomal Protein) in an Animal Model
Background: The immunogenic Brucella abortus ribosomal protein L7/L12 is a promising candidate antigen for the development of subunit vaccines against brucellosis. Objective: This study was aimed to evaluate the protection of recombinant Human Serum Albumin (HAS)-L7/L12 fusion protein in Balb/c mice. Methods: The amplified L7/L12 gene was cloned in pYHSA5 vector, pYHSA5-L7/L12 construct was tra...
متن کاملThe Assessment of Cytokine and Antibody Responses to Recombinant 31kDa Brucella Cell-Surface Protein in Brucella Abortus Infected Mouse Model
Background & Objective: One of the most common diseases between zoonosis - especially in developing countries – is brucellosis. Identification of Brucella cell antigen combinations in terms of the amount and type of immune response in infected hosts, are important in vaccine design. 31kDa Brucella cell surface protein (BCSP31) is shared among all Brucellae. We aimed to define specific immune r...
متن کاملNew Brucella abortus S19 Mutant to Improve Distinction Between Infected and Vaccinated Animals
Background: Using Brucella abortus Strain 19 (S19) to control bovine brucellosis is restricted due to induce antibodies to the O-side chain of the smooth lipopolysaccharide (LPS) which may be difficult to differentiate vaccinated and infected animals. Furthermore, it is virulent for humans and can induce abortion to cattle. Objectives: The aim of...
